The Matawa Education Department:
The role of the Matawa Education Department is to support educational initiatives that promote educational excellence and positively impact the quality of education in Matawa First Nations’ schools and to its students. Supporting Matawa First Nations education authorities while networking with Aboriginal organizations, Indian and Northern Affairs, the Provincial Ministry of Education, and Post Secondary, Secondary, and Elementary institutions is an important responsibility of the Matawa Education Department.
Bowmansville Rotary Club:
The Bowmanville Rotary Club provides financial assistance for awards and bursaries to encourage Matawa First Nations students in their educational endeavors. These honours will recognize the outstanding achievement and leadership of students who have demonstrated exemplary qualities in the areas of initiative, inspiration, volunteer work, and school community contributions. Through these awards, The Matawa Education Department is encouraging all Matawa First Nations students to strive for excellence in education as well as motivate others to work hard and follow their dreams.
